Accomplishments
· Supported strong law enforcement budget to keep our city safe
· Aggressive rehabilitation program of city streets, sidewalks and city facilities using special grant funds. Over 3 million dollars spent since 2003.
· Requested that developers designate homes for our First Time Home Buyer Program so that residents in South El Monte have an opportunity to become home owners.
· Worked with city staff to develop three new shopping centers that will bring needed commercial and retail development to our city.
· Requested the remodeling of New Temple Park, Senior Citizen Center and the Community Center using grant funds
· Continues to seek funds to beautify our city and to create more landscaping at our major street intersection
$16 Million Dollars will be spent the next three years to:

$2 million dollars will be spent on sewers, streets curbs, traffic signals and landscaping

30 low interest loans to residents for home rehabilitation

$200,000 for First Time Home Buyer Program making it possible for residents to own their own home

Business Rehabilitation grants to beautify the local businesses community in our city

Street median islands reconstruction to include landscaping throughout the city
